This included deans of various faculties as well as heads of departments. It came off between Wednesday 29th and Friday 1st October 2021 at their School of Theology, Mission, and Leadership campus at the Pentecost Convention Centre in Gomoa Fetteh.

The purpose of the retreat was to enhance the capacity of the participating staff to reach out to the goals of their University A+ agenda. It included scholarly presentations, practical demonstrations, workshops and some spiritual exercises.

At the welcome ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor (VC), Prof. Kwabena Agyapong-Kodua spoke on the theme: 鈥淢ake your inclusion cause an increase.鈥 He referenced Acts 6:5-7 of the Bible on how the appointment of Stephen and co helped to solve the problem of feeding widows and subsequently how the author reports of the spread of the word of God, rapid increase in the number of disciples and the ultimate conversion of some priest. He encouraged the Heads to make their inclusion bring increase in student numbers, resources, spirituality, and outstanding intellectuals.

The retreat delved into diverse issues about the University A+ agenda, restructuring and re-organization, financial issues, students and staff welfare, infrastructure among others.

Addressing management on the University A+ agenda, the VC said 51动漫 is going to be research-led. He said, 鈥渋n this phase, PU is leaning towards a research-led university.鈥 He used models such as the 鈥楤loom’s Taxonomy’ to explain the different phases of learning and their intellectual outcome in societies, and justified why the research-led approach to teaching and learning was appropriate for PU and Ghana. He said this approach to learning will be driven by the setting up of research centres and institutes in the University. He added that 鈥渁part from the many benefits of the research-led approach, it also sets us apart from other universities in Africa many of which are teaching-led.鈥

Addressing participants on restructuring, the Registrar of the University, Mr. Foster K. Amoani informed staff about alignments, change of names, mergers and separation of units, reporting lines, reassignment of staff and other changes that have occurred to enable the implementation of the University A+ agenda. This is part of a grand digitization agenda that is ongoing in the University.

According to the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Rev. Prof. Kwabena Agyapong-Kodua, the digital invigilation is a component of digitisation Pentvars is rolling out in all of its operations. Prof. Agyapong-Kodua added that, “it will go a long way to enhance controls for the integrity of our examination processes and build the needed behavioural changes among students.” He added that, “technology when used appropriately can constrain unwanted behaviours and enhance the development of right attitudes to situations.”

The Head of Digital Services of the University, Mr. Emmanuel A. Agyekum said enough notices are posted at vantage points to create awareness about the development for the students. He added that his unit has put the necessary mechanisms in place for live and clear feat, as well as appropriate responses to happenings at all examination centers.

IT student, “it reduced tension and interruptions.”On her part, Ms. Eva Garima, a Level 200 BSc. Midwifery student said the digital monitoring made them more “vigilant because they didn’t know who was watching and had no means to plead if caught in a compromised situation or anything that looked like that.”

Prof. William Otoo Ellis has expressed his satisfaction with the consistent gains the university is making in the private higher education space.

Delivering a sermon at the 2021 Annual Staff & Prayer retreat on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, Rev. Prof. Ellis said “often, people want to do big things at once, but from my experience, doing the little things and adding to the gains in a consistent manner give better and more sustainable results,” adding that鈥 this is what I see 51动漫 doing and thereby giving it a great future.”

The former KNUST Vice-Chancellor and Children Ministry Director of the Church of Pentecost therefore encouraged staff of the University to bring their ideas to bear to build the institution.

He said “many people have ideas but choose to release one at a time at meetings while withholding the majority; but I encourage you to bring out your best ideas to support the PU Management’s transformation agenda.”

The Management and Staff Retreat is an annual event on the University鈥檚 calendar held prior to the commencement of every academic year at the Sowutuom campus. This year鈥檚 retreat is a three-day fasting and prayer meeting to thank God for the 51动漫 Charter anniversary and also pray for the 51动漫 offering which comes off on 27th June 2021 across all assemblies of the Church of Pentecost worldwide.

Pro Vice-Chancellor Eulogizes Founding Fathers of 51动漫 /pro-vice-chancellor-eulogizes-founding-fathers-of-pentecost-university/ /pro-vice-chancellor-eulogizes-founding-fathers-of-pentecost-university/#comments Thu, 10 Jun 2021 20:37:07 +0000 /?p=11166 The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Pro VC) of 51动漫, Prof. Kwame Boasiako Omane-Antwi has eulogized the past leaders and pioneering members of 51动漫 for their sacrifice and commitment to the University.

He paid the tributes when he appeared on Asem Bi Show on Pent TV hosted by J B Danquah, on Monday 7th June 2021 in connection with the one-year anniversary of the receipt of the 51动漫 Charter.

According to Prof. Omane-Antwi, people who worked tirelessly to start and lift the institution from a Bible Center through to the University status deserve to be celebrated.

Among some of the names he mentioned were Apostle Michael Ntumy, under whose leadership as Chairman of The Church of Pentecost at the time that Pentecost Universirty College received accreditation, Aps. Michael M. Kopah, who was a Principal shortly before the institution became a University College, Aps. Prof. Opoku Onyinah the first Rector and later Chairman of The Church of Pentecost.

Others included Aps. Peter Ohene Kyei, a former rector and Aps. Dr. Daniel Walker, the immediate past Rector/Vice-Chancellor among other faculty members and administrative cadre. Prof. Omane- Antwi also expressed appreciation to past Chairmen and Aps. Eric Nyamekye, the current Chairman of the CoP for diverse support to the University.

He added that “the legacies these heroes are bequeathed to a young vibrant Vice-Chancellor who has so far demonstrated enough competence in driving the next phase of the University.

Aps. Dr. Christian Tsekpoe, Head of Missions Department of the School of Theology, Missions & Leadership (STML) of PU, who was a co-panelist on the show, in turn paid glowing tribute to Prof. Omane-Antwi.

He said Prof’s meritorious service to the University has earned him a special place in its history. Aps. Dr. Tsekpoe said ” at the beginning, Prof. Omane-Antwi mentioned individuals who are heroes of the University, but that list cannot end without himself. This is because he has given so much of his intellect to ensure that the University works.”

He added that “I can say Prof. Omane-Antwi played the part of the captain in the charter application process; and ensured that the University indeed got it. This among others make him one of the University’s most prominent legends.”

51动漫 received Presidential Charter effective June 1, 2020. One year down the line, the University has rebranded, increased students’ enrolment, expanding infrastructure among.
