According to him, the commitment of the alumni will encourage equally good students to choose the University thereby increasing their numbers in the corporate world for strategic networks. 鈥淲hen this happens, you will have many of yourselves in key positions thereby creating strategic networks and opportunities for yourselves and to some extent the University鈥rof. Agyapong-Kodua added.

The VC made these remarks when he met a section of the alumni of the University on campus on Thursday 11th August 2022. The Vice-Chancellor praised all alumni of the University and touted their contributions to businesses in Ghana and beyond. He enumerated some of the strategic places they work including the Ghana Revenue Authority, giant audit firms, indigenous and transnational commercial banks, influential media houses, The Church of Pentecost among others.

He added some also build on their PU foundation for higher education in some of the most prestigious Universities abroad while others work with firms with global outreach out there. He added that, 鈥渨e are not only aware of the influential places our past students work in but also the testimonies of their capabilities and the performance of those who are self-employed are what inspire us the most.鈥

The VC therefore used the opportunity to call on all past students to continually rally around the University and enhance their commitment to the renewed vision to make it A+. He concluded by charging those present and all to take interest in the activities of the University and be proud to share the success stories that emerge from time to time.

The meeting was meant to improve upon the engagement between 51动漫 and its past students. In attendance were a cross-section of prominent alumni including Dr. Abraham Nyebar, an alumnus who holds a doctorate degree in Finance from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa, and Dr. Christian Tsekpoe, also an alumnus of the University who went on to earn a PhD from the Oxford Centre for Mission Studies, UK.

51动漫 Holds 12th Congregation /pentecost-university-holds-2021-graduation/ /pentecost-university-holds-2021-graduation/#comments Sun, 31 Jan 2021 14:50:19 +0000 /?p=10955 51动漫 has held its 12th graduation ceremony for masters, undergraduate, and certificate students. The ceremony took place on the Sowutuom campus in Accra on Saturday 30th January 2021. It was attended by students, staff, and restricted guests from The Church of Pentecost, sister universities, regulatory bodies, in line with social distancing protocols of Covid-19.

The Council Chair of the University, Rev. Prof. Ellis Otto who opened the ceremony congratulated the students on attaining their respective academic levels. He also challenged the fresh graduates to live up to the expectations of their training.

In his address, the Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Prof. Kwabena Agyapong-Kodua repeated the university鈥檚 new focus to be a different kind, distinguished in research, morality, and problem-solving abilities; and ultimately be known and referred to as聽University A+.聽

Prof. Agyapong-Kodua congratulated the fresh graduates and asked them to embrace research-led practices to solve problems at the local, national and international levels. 鈥淭his day reminds me of mine and I can imagine the joy in your hearts; I, therefore, congratulate you on attaining this feat on behalf of management and staff of PU.鈥 …he said.

The VC outlined a few initiatives already on course and geared toward the University A+ agenda. Some include digitization of the administrative processes, the building of ultra-modern hostel facilities, acquisition of research grants among others.鈥 I tell you this for you to be proud of your school and know that we are building a brand that you will leverage on, as alumni.鈥 鈥 Prof Agyapong-Kodua added. He, therefore, asked them to be torchbearers of the University A+ agenda.鈥

The best graduating student in MA. Pentecostal Studies Rev. Gabriel Nti thanked God for the quality of tuition he received. 鈥淚 studied for my BA here and now masters here and can confidently and humbly say PU has a rich experience for students.鈥

Mr. Kingsley Yeboah Konadu, a Banking and Finance student emerged as the overall bests graduating student at the undergrad level. He also won other awards including best male graduating student and best student of the Faculty of Business Administration.

In his remark, Mr. Yeboah said he is humbled by the achievement. 鈥淓merging the best graduating student from a prestigious and academically rigorous university like PU is very humbling.鈥 鈥 Mr. Yeboah said. He added that 鈥淚 believe it was made possible by God鈥檚 grace, faculty members, and the circle of friends I kept on campus.鈥

On his part, Aps. Prof. Opoku Onyinah, the first Rector of the university and member of faculty, said he is impressed with how the ceremony was organized. He said, “being the first that the university held post charter, I must say it reflected the reinvigorated vision to be a different kind of university, distinguished for excellence.鈥 Prof. Onyinah said. He added what stood out for him was some staff of the university who graduated with higher qualifications. The renowned theologian said that 鈥渁s a human capital development enthusiast, I was pleased to see some staff who entered the university as menial employees with little to no academic qualifications upgrade to degree and masters鈥 levels in some cases; that is what pushed me to give them Staff Development Awards.

In all, 120, 424, and 144 students graduated at masters, undergraduate, and certificate levels respectively. It strictly adhered to all World Health Organisation’s Covid-19 protocols.

PUC Holds Maiden Alumni Reconnect /puc-holds-maiden-alumni-reconnect/ /puc-holds-maiden-alumni-reconnect/#comments Mon, 10 Dec 2018 17:29:11 +0000 /?p=9486 The Alumni Relations Office in collaboration with the Advancement Office of PUC last Friday, December 7, 2018, organized the University鈥檚 first-ever Alumni Reconnect at the Sowutoum Campus.

The event brought together both Alumni and current students on one platform to interact and network, providing an opportunity for current students to learn from the University鈥檚 Alumni.

The Alumni further shared testimonies of their experiences both as students and life after school, highlighting their ups and downs during their school days and how they were able to overcome those challenges.

Charles Sakordie, a 2012 graduate, said his big take away from PUC is the principles and values that were embedded in him and that makes him a bigger ambassador for the University.

Speaking at the event, the Rector of PUC, Apostle Dr. Daniel Walker, mentioned that PUC students are doing well all over the world. He entreated all present to take a continuing interest in the university, join the Alumni Association and give back to their alma mater.

The Alumni Coordinator, Rev. Eric Adobah Thomson said that PUC has a very bright future and that PUC will become a university of choice if the Alumni themselves can sell the school. He added that PUC students and graduates carry favour everywhere they go or find themselves and the mighty hand of the Lord is always upon them.

The Alumni Association pledged to provide infrastructural support in the area of a sports complex, hostel facilities and even constructing of the road leading to the university.

According聽to聽Mr.聽Inkoom, our generation is made up of millennial who lack basic skill sets that are needed by recruiters in the world of work. This, he said, 鈥渋s mostly due to the rote nature of the educational systems in Africa which has accounted for the huge skills gaps that exist between industry and academia鈥.

In view of this,聽Mr.聽Inkoom together with other alumni of Penvars namely聽Mr聽Emmanuel Kofi Opoku,聽Mr.聽Eric Arthur,聽Mr聽Bernard Nunoo and聽Ms聽Priscilla Amoako collaborated to found a social enterprise called聽SkillsGap聽to help train undergrads to become job-ready.

The maiden summit was graced by the Rector of Pentvars, Apostle Dr. Daniel Okyere Walker and other renowned entrepreneurs and industry leaders such as Ms Emmaline Datey (HR and Administration Manager, EIB Network), Mr. Nicholas Bortey (CEO,聽Liranz聽Limited), Mr. Andrew Manomey (HR Manager, Omnibank Ghana) and Mr. Timothy Adei (MD, Certified Ghana).

The event is scheduled to be organized annually to help students and the unemployed build aptitude towards work and help them garner valuable resourceful for leadership and career success.

The citation is in recognition of the awards he won at the just ended Ghana Music Awards.

Joe Mettle who is an alumnus of the university won three awards; Gospel Artiste of the Year, Gospel Song of the Year and Best Male Vocalist.

Institution Advancement Director of the PUC, Rev Dr. Emmanuel Apea said, Joe Mettle鈥檚 performance has been a source of pride to the university and been a role model to the youth.

He added that the university in recognition of the contribution of the gospel musician decided to present the citation to him
Joe Mettle expressed gratitude to the PUC for their training and mentoring which he said had contributed to his success as a musician.

He said the knowledge he acquired as a marketing student at the 51动漫 College had helped him to promote his music.

First Black African to chair G200 Youth Summit visits PUC (his alma mater) /first-black-african-to-chair-g200-youth-summit-visits-puc-his-alma-mater/ Fri, 15 Dec 2017 09:07:07 +0000 http://206.189.20.232:8888/?p=7876 Mr Steven Blessing Ackah, the first African to chair the G200 Youth Summit, has indicated his determination to promote the establishment of incubation centres in tertiary institutions in Ghana. Such centres, according to him, could augment or even replace the internship programmes of these higher educational institutions across Africa.

He explained that incubation centres, offer students practical and technical know-how of what the job market entails, and further give enterprising students, entrepreneurial skills, and actual opportunities to start and own businesses even before they exit the university.

Mr Ackah made the remarks on Friday, December 15, 2017, when he visited his alma mater, 51动漫 College (PUC) at the Sowutoum campus in Accra, Ghana.

A proud 2014 alumnus of PUC, Steven read BSc Banking & Finance and had the opportunity to be mentored by Prof Steven Addai, former Rector of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).

In an interaction with Apostle Dr Daniel Walker, Rector of PUC, Mr Blessing Ackah, commended PUC for its mentorship programme and urged authorities to continue to maintain it as an integral part of the University鈥檚 curricular.

Apostle Dr Walker, in congratulating Mr Ackah, further assured him of PUC鈥檚 preparedness to partner and assist him, and for that matter any of the alumni of the university, in their individual and collective endeavours saying 鈥淲e are solidly behind you, and we will partner and support you in all your initiatives. We are very proud of your achievements鈥.

G200 Youth Summit

Mr Steven Blessing Ackah, an alumnus of 51动漫 College (PUC) was selected as the first Black African to chair the New Strategies for Financial Sector and World Economy Committee under the Ministers for Economy Delegation at the 2017 G200 Youth Summit facilitated by the President of G20Y Association.

The G200 Youth Forum held from December 6 to 10, 2017, was the largest international event organized for young leaders in 2017, and about 300 young leaders, parliamentarians, students and academics, representatives of the business world, governments and international organizations participated.

The result of the G200 Youth Summit is expected to be disseminated throughout the world and shared with the Heads of States and leading international Organisations such as the IMF, WORLD BANK, UNITED NATIONS, OECD, EUROPEAN UNION AND AFRICA UNION.

This is the first time a black聽person is chairing such a committee.

Who is Steve

Steven Blessing Ackah, a young dynamic and intelligent Ghanaian, whose immense influence,

cuts across the world, completed 51动漫 College in 2014 having graduated with BSc Banking and Finance.


Steven Blessing Ackah, is a youth diplomat, a member of National Election Early Warning and Response Group under the Ghana National Peace Council and cutting-edge strategist with an outstanding record in both social enterprise and profit-making business. Based on his advocacy on youth employment policies and job bank strategies, he was bestowed the Most Outstanding Personality Service Award 2017 by West Africa Merit Award Organization.

With endorsements from H.E. Ambassador Professor Dr. Tal Edgars- UN Ambassador to Africa, and Mrs. Ana Manduley Atarodian, US Based and Co- Founder of UAE- AFRICA MDC, Mr. Ackah was nominated to join the G200 Alumni聽Association and was extended the role to chair one of the Committees.
