In their stay there, they discussed many things about The Church of Pentecost and the 51动漫 in particular.

 

The team explored opportunities for collaborations between 51动漫 and the communities in the Nkwanta enclave with the view to establish satellite campuses in places like Kpassa and bring world class tertiary education to the doorstep of the people. They also engaged the community with the word of God and offered opportunities to students to explore the prospects that await them at 51动漫.

 

Indeed, it was great to see God’s marvellous work through His Church in the area throughout the weeks. Many thanks to Ps. Dwamena Asante, the Area Head, and all who helped to make the tour to the area fruitful.

Mr. Oppong Nkrumah showered the praises when he addressed participants of this year’s Career Fair organized on the University campus in Sowutuom, Accra. He said “congratulations to Dr. Adomako Kissi who makes every effort to serve his people, and thanks to the Management of 51动漫 for supporting such good efforts.” He added that the University should continue to open its doors for such community-based initiatives so that “we can build the country together.”

Speaking on jobs, the Hon. Information Minister charged the youth to look out for opportunities in the economy which he said is challenged but growing appreciably. He further urged them to prioritize creating value; which he said brings the best rewards in spite of one’s political party, gender, ethnicity or level of education.

The Registrar of the University, Mr. Foster Kobena Amoani, who spoke on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor Aps. Prof. Kwabena Agyapong-Kodua said the University is always ready to support initiatives that seek the welfare of society.

The Career Fair was organized by the Hon. Member of Parliament for the Anyaa- Sowutuom constituency Dr. Dickson A. Kissi, with support from 51动漫 on Thursday 26th May 2022.

It was attended by scores of people from within and outside the constituency. Besides, there were also most of Ghana’s key public and private entities which offered students and participants the opportunities to explore.

The students include some International students who could not go home following the suspension of lectures, student volunteers at the Pentvars Radio and some student leaders.

The items donated include bags of rice, cooking oil, Gari and other food items.

At a presentation ceremony held at the campus of the college at Sowutuom yesterday, the Area Head of Odorkor, Apostle Patrick Aseyoro, said they were touched when they got information that there were some students on campus, particularly, International students who required some help.

He said, immediately they got the information they mobilised some resources to assist the students.

He urged the students to make the best out of this challenging time and consider this as an opportunity to get closer to God.

Rector of PUC, Apostle Dr. Daniel Walker, said he was impressed by the swiftness with which the Area came to the aid of the students when he approached them for assistance.

He advised the students to respect the lockdown directives by the government and observe safety protocols.

On behalf of Management of the University, the Rector also presented some items including milk, tinned fish, eggs, toilet roll and sachet water among others to the students.

Public Relations Officer of the University, Dr. Daniel Nkrumah, on behalf of PUC and the students expressed appreciation to the CoP Odorkor Area, and said the donation was timely and would help address the nutritional needs of the students.

The SRC president, Mr. Daniel Asomani and a representative of the International students also expressed appreciation to Management of PUC for the kind gesture.

CITI TV, ZOOMLION FUMIGATE PUC /citi-tv-zoomlion-fumigate-puc/ /citi-tv-zoomlion-fumigate-puc/#comments Wed, 15 Apr 2020 15:02:16 +0000 /?p=10320 Citi TV, in partnership with Zoomlion Ghana Limited, has fumigated 51动漫 College as part of efforts to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The exercise is part of a Corporate Social Responsibility programme by Citi TV and Zoomlion in selected tertiary institutions in the country.

The others are the University of Ghana, University of Professional Studies and the Central University.

A statement from Citi TV said the “initiative by the company seeks to keep the campuses safe and clean for use when academic work resumes as schools are on forced break as part of government鈥檚 measures to curtail the spread of the coronavirus pandemic”.

According to the Managing Director of Citi TV and Citi FM, Samuel Atta-Mensah, the gesture is in response to the President’s call for support from organisations and individuals to help fight the pandemic.

Rector of PUC, Apostle Dr. Daniel Okyere Walker, in response expressed gratitude to the two organisations.

“We at 51动漫 College are thrilled by this gesture and believe that it is critical to ensuring that our universities are safe as we prepare for the resumption of academic work on the various campuses”.

He urged other companies to support academic institutions, particularly, in these challenging times.

He admonished Ghanaians to abide by the lockdown directives by the government to help control the rate of infection.

Apostle Dr. Walker also advised persons who have been infected or contact traced and in quarantine not to flee isolation centres as that could threaten their own lives and the lives of others.

Erica and Ruth, accompanied by their husbands (Nicholas Lugg and Martin Goodison respectively), expressed joy about the level of progress and infrastructural development that has taken place after the pioneering role of their father after a tour of the campus and facilities of the University College.

 

At the PentVars Radio, they were given the opportunity to interact with the Host of the Morning Express, Maame Yaa Owusua Appiah, as they reminisced the early days of the School with a class of 5 students though they were very young then.

They used the opportunity to thank the leadership of the Church of Pentecost and Management of the University College for continuing the work of their father. 鈥淲e must thank COP leadership and Management of the University College for what we are seeing today. It鈥檚 a legacy to the foundation work by our dad,鈥 Ruth said.

51动漫 College started as a Bible Training Centre in Kumasi to prepare new ministers for the Church of Pentecost with Pastor David Mills as the first principal. In 1984, the Centre was moved to Madina in Accra as a Bible College and later in 2003, upgraded to a University College.

Under the auspices of Dr. Mrs. Abigail Kyei, who is the Head of the Department of Nursing and Midwifery, the event kick-started with brand awareness from members of the PUC ladies movement in their pink t-shirts and engaged students on the dangers and treatment of breast cancer.

鈥淚 am very grateful to Management and staff of 51动漫 College and the Nurses and Midwifery Department for their support and guidance in organizing this鈥 鈥 Nana Ama Ainoo-Ansah

The Women鈥檚 Officer also said the screening and awareness of breast cancer was needful, as creating awareness and early detection will save lives.

The activity was greatly successful and saw student and staff participation from the school community with 10 Doctors from Ridge Hospital examining 158 female students, 3 Male students and 12 female staffs during the day.

The Vice-Rector of PUC, Professor K.B. Omane-Antwi, who led the delegation from PUC to make the donation, said the donation was part of efforts to adequately resource libraries of some selected senior high schools in the country.

He charged the students to take their destinies in their own hands and work hard in order to excel in their studies and achieve great heights in life.

He said God has given the students the option of choosing life and prosperity so they should make good choices in order to attain those goals.

The Head Librarian of PUC, Mr. Michael Gyimah, presented the books to the Headmistress of the school, Madam Sylvia Isabella Laryea.

Mr. Gyimah said libraries were critical to academic and human development, and was hopeful that the books would help enrich the knowledge base of the students.

Methodist Girls鈥 SHS was established 35 years ago and is considered to be one of the fast-rising senior high schools in the country. The school recently won the 2019 World ROBOFEST Competition held in Michigan in the United States of America.
