    Rev. M.K. Yeboah Memorial Trust Visits 51动漫 /rev-m-k-yeboah-memorial-trust-visits-pentecost-university/ /rev-m-k-yeboah-memorial-trust-visits-pentecost-university/#comments Sat, 05 Sep 2020 07:00:59 +0000 /?p=10614 A four-member delegation from the Rev. MK Yeboah Memorial Trust on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, paid a working visit to 51动漫.

The visit was to evaluate the partnership impact of the Trust and also deepen her relationship with the University Community.

Secretary to the Trust, Elder Lawyer Bernard Bosompra said: “we came to assess the relationship that we established with 51动漫 in line with the objectives of the Trust”.

In 2019, the Trust donated two hundred thousand Ghana cedis (GHC 200,000.00) to 51动漫 to resource the university’s library.

This, according to Elder Lawyer Bosompra was to fulfil the vision of the Late Prophet M.K Yeboah (former Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, 1988- 1998) in establishing well-resourced libraries for people in search of knowledge.

鈥楾he late Chairman gave me the privilege to write his Will in which he stressed the setting up of a library for pastors and anyone who needs library services’, Lawyer Bossompra added.

In line with the objective of the Trust, the funds was used to resource the University’s library to an ultra-modern status.

Chief Information Officer of the University, Mr Michael K. Gyimah said the partnership with the Rev. M K. Yeboah Memorial Trust has been beneficial to the University. 鈥業 must say the partnership with Rev. MK Yeboah Memorial Trust has been a blessing to our University鈥, he stated. 鈥楲ast year, we received financial support which we used to expand the library infrastructure and stocked it with more books and computers. We also used the fund to expand an e-library project we call the Pocket Size Library Project, which aims at putting all our books online and making it convenient for mobile devices鈥, Mr Gyimah added.

The Rev. M.K.Yeboah Memorial Trust was established in honour of Prophet Martinson Kwadwo Yeboah, a former Chairman of The Church of Pentecost.

According to Lawyer Bossompra, Prophet Yeboah made provision in his Will for the establishment of a Trust to support children named after him at the time. The Trust also aims at making library resources available to as many people as possible.

The delegation consisted of Aps. Patrick Aseyoro (Chairman of the Trust) Ps. Dr. Nicholas Darko, Eld. Lawyer Bossompra and Apostle Ackah- Baidoo (Rtd).

From Cartoon Enthusiast to Award Winning Film Maker 鈥 The Story of Frederick Walker of 51动漫 /frederick-theawardwinning-filmmaker/ /frederick-theawardwinning-filmmaker/#comments Wed, 26 Aug 2020 06:26:43 +0000 /?p=10558 What began as a means to while away time when growing up has now become a passion and a cash cow for 51动漫鈥檚 Level 100 Logistics student, Frederick Osei Ofosu Walker.

When his sister Eunice recommended that he entered into the Screen Space competition, he initially ignored. However, two days to the close of entry, he quickly shot and edited a 1-minute video on the ills of corruption. The next day he submitted his entry which was to propel him to follow his passion for videography with the needed zeal.

鈥 The video had to be less than one minute which was really challenging. It paid off with a scholarship to the Metfilm School in London and also a DJI Osmo (a mobile phone gimbal)鈥, Fred recalls adding that 鈥渢he video emerged the 2nd best entry from the 15 best-shortlisted entries from over a thousand entries worldwide in 2018.

20-year-old Fred entered the 51动漫 as an aspiring music video director. He believes that the PentVars education will give him the needed push, exposure and leverage to portray Africa to the world in a dignifying manner. He hopes that by working on his craft and learning to earn a degree in logistics as well as the professional certificate from the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (CILT), he would be able to diversify his knowledge base, adopt a lifestyle based on purpose as well as earn income from other sources.

Looking forward to being empowered in the coming years on campus, Fred is optimistic of drawing and drinking from the Pentvars mentorship program and also to draw more inspiration from Anas Aremayaw Anas, the celebrated investigative journalist and what he does! 聽

鈥淢y end goal is actually to slowly divert from music video scene into creating documentary sort of videos which will help tackle our national issues and bring development鈥, he is confident. 鈥淚 have always imagined myself creating my own movies, so I used to write stories a lot and would basically bring my imagination to life and see the stories onscreen. In the SHS (Adisadel College), I knew friends who did music and whenever I heard their songs I used to picture it visually in mind鈥檚 eye. People are motivated by what they see so I seek to uplift people through visuals鈥.

Fred鈥檚 repertoire oozes with creativity and inspiration working with artiste in Ghana and in the UK for over 15 videos and documentary to date. Whether filming Quamina MP鈥檚 Mankesim to London or discovery Kwesi Arthur鈥檚 Trip to Takoradi, human interest, excellence and the love for country is his soft spot.

Interestingly, as he uncovers the intrigues of his passion, Apostle Dan Walker (PhD), Vice-Chancellor of 51动漫 from whose quivers he emanates softly manages his talent. 鈥淢y dad is my manager. He helps with the amount to charge (video cost) and how to relate with clients. He prays I work with the bigger artiste and expand to the international level鈥, he says and giggles

A profile of Fred鈥檚 works includes but not limited to the following:

    • Coventry University鈥檚 launch video
    • Flexgod daps – edited his talk in聽 London /My Runway Group
    • Manifest- shot and edited both pictures and pictures at the Gamble Album listening in London (UK)
    • Karl Lokko- interviewed, shot and edited talk show at Coventry University
    • Mawuli Gavor 鈥 shot and edited w/Bristish CouncilxMy Run Way Group (Home Coming GH event)
    • God rated inc 鈥 worked on multiple videos as partnering brand for Emmanuel O2 program
    • Ground-up chale 鈥 worked on different series and music videos which featured artistes like Kwesi Arthur, Quamina MP, Twitch, Day
    • Shekinah sings- shot and edited 2 videos for this gospel group both at the 02 ARENA IN London and the cupcake boutique Ghana
    • Faith Child 鈥 shot and edited his video at the O2 Arena, London

Fred encourages his colleagues to keep working hard, build on their craft today and keep the long term goal in order to spread a positive message through entertainment.
