As part of our visit to Nzema land for the Apostolisation programme, we had the chance to explore the nearby town of Nzulezu, located on a vast water body. I was amazed by two things there: (1) the presence and impact of The Church of Pentecost in the community – thanks to our ministers and leaders in Area; (2) the engineering and scientific ingenuity of the ancient architecture of Nzulezu.

Nzulezu, which means “surface of water” in English is a testament to the intellectual, innovative, and courageous spirit of the inhabitants. Many years ago, a group of indigenous people built their town on stilts over a river with remarkable civil and construction engineering knowledge. Today, Nzulezu remains a simple community with modest living conditions, but its architecture and history are a marvel of Innovation and Architecture.

This community is an excellent example of how humankind has the capacity to accomplish great things, including building homes on water, exploring space, eradicating poverty, creating a fair justice system, and establishing institutions of higher learning.

The visit to Nzulezu affirms 51动漫’s A+ agenda, and the drive to do things differently. Our students would be sent there for further research and to support them with modern methods of constructing such infrastructure.

Indeed, my visit to Nzulezu was a truly humbling and inspiring experience, and I thank my host and the community’s people for their warm reception. Nzulezu is a hidden gem that needs wider attention to become.

The programmes include BEng Robotics and Automation; BEng. Electricals and Electronics; BEng. Systems Engineering, BEng Manufacturing Engineering and BEng Environmental Engineering.

Commenting on the development, the Vice-Chancellor of PU, Prof. Kwabena Agyapong-Kodua described it as monumental. The VC said the 5 programmes will reinforce the University’s position to provide industry-relevant engineering education that will equip the next generation for the increasingly sophisticated Industry 4.0/5.0 requirements. Linking it to the Pentecost Engineering Village, the VC said, there will be intensive practicals, research and nurturing of sufficient expertise for national development.

Commenting on the uniqueness of the BEng programmes, the Acting Director of 51动漫’s International Digital Centre, Isaac Kuma-Yeboah said they are significantly different from the regular Bachelor of Science programmes. According to the Director, the BEng Engineering Programme is more geared toward practicals, research, teaching and learning with intensive industry engagement for both the students and faculty members. Providing further details on the models, Mr Kuma-Yeboah said the students will undertake industry attachment in their first three years of study and spend the entire fourth year in the industry under the joint supervision of faculty and industry practitioners.
