Prof. Kwabena Agyapong-Kodua has charged ministers of God to see their call to full-time ministry as an honour, although it requires great sacrifice. The VC said the call sometimes causes some to abandon what can be described as high-paying jobs, and it involves indescribable risks.

Accepting such a challenge, he said, “is a sacrifice but cannot be compared with the value of grace and mercy shown to an individual who has been called by God for the expansion of His kingdom.”

VC Woos the Support of COP Ministers and Wives for the University A+ agenda /vc-woos-the-support-of-cop-ministers-and-wives-for-the-university-a-agenda/ /vc-woos-the-support-of-cop-ministers-and-wives-for-the-university-a-agenda/#comments Sun, 29 Jan 2023 18:50:23 +0000 /?p=12011 The Vice-Chancellor of 51动漫 wooed the support of Ministers and Wives of The Church of Pentecost for the new phase of the University. Prof. Agyapong-Kodua made the appeal during his presentation at this year’s Global Ministers and Wives Conference of the Church at the Pentecost Convention Centre which ended on 28th January 2022.

In the address which centred on activities of the Pentecost School of Theology and Mission (PSTM), the VC reiterated the unique position of the University in the Church’s future. He outlined the various interventions the University is doing to support the Church’s Vision 2023 and expansion. Some of which he said included the training of over 8000 Elders of the Church; training and graduation of 450 Ministers’ wives; enrolment of 442 CoP Ministers in their BA Theology programme; and the ongoing training of 127 fresh ministers of CoP. These, Prof. Agyapong-Kodua said, will go a long way to equip them for maximum impact in the local churches and beyond.

Also, the VC outlined programmes that are developed to give executive training to various heads and Ieaders in the church. He said, “Beloved, by the grace of God, 51动漫 is rolling out executive training including Pentecostal Leadership.” He said this will enable the Church of Pentecost to document most of its own unique leadership models that it gathered and used over the years. He said these models will be valuable resources for businesses and other corporate organisations.

Apart from the activities at PSTM, the VC hinted to the congregation about the Pentecost Engineering Village. The PEV he said will be leading the Industry 4.0/5.0 agenda in Ghana and Africa. “Because of this, the University is collaborating with local and international institutions to stock the PEV with in-depth researchers and modern technological devices that will provide enhanced digital solutions to industry”… Prof. Agyapong-Kodua added.

The VC concluded by thanking the Chairman of the Church of Pentecost and his Executives, the various Heads, and the Ministers and Wives for their immense support and interest in PU. He also called on them to contribute and support the growth of the CoP Chairman’s Education Foundation (COPCEF) so that more scholarships, bursaries and infrastructure can be provided. He challenged them to continue to contribute to the growth of the University so that it can effectively serve the Church and the nations.

VC SPEAKS AT 2023 JOSPONG LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE /vc-speaks-at-2023-jospong-leadership-conference/ /vc-speaks-at-2023-jospong-leadership-conference/#comments Mon, 23 Jan 2023 15:12:16 +0000 /?p=12000 The Vice-Chancellor of 51动漫, Prof. Kwabena Agyapong-Kodua delivered a keynote address at the 2023 Jospong Leadership Conference. The conference held for the top leadership of the diverse subsidiaries of the Jospong Group of Companies took place at the Pentecost Convention Centre in Gomoa Fetteh, near Accra.

The Vice-Chancellor spoke on the theme of the conference 鈥淧eople, Process and Performance鈥 with an emphasis on 鈥淢otivation and Coaching.鈥 He described the elements of motivation, and the originality index of motivation and proposed the use of Artificial Intelligent tools that can personalize motivation for staff members.

Speaking in detail, Prof. Agyapong-Kodua said motivation is bi-direction. By this, he explained that staff at all levels should recognize that individuals beneath and above them in the organizational hierarchy need motivation. With this, he said they can motivate those they supervise and also encourage their bosses.

With references to the Holy Bible and scholarly authorities on motivation, such as Maslow鈥檚 Hierarchy of Needs, the VC advocated the use of what he called the 鈥渙riginality index of needs鈥 as needs are causally related but vary from person to person and degrees of importance.

To strengthen the originality index model, he proposed the design and use of tailor-made technology products that can intelligently predict the motivational needs of individual staff. He said, such a system should contain the bio-data of staff members and include elements such as their interests, religious views, political views, gender, and career plan among others. 鈥淪ome of these elements largely determine what motivates a person, and the leader or the HR Manager with such information is better placed to motivate the individual staff in a manner that truly motivates. 鈥.. he said.

As an experienced business leader, Prof. Agyapong-Kodua shared personal experiences with such tools while working with multinational corporations. He also expressed the preparedness of Pentecost university to develop them for the Jospong Group.

On the soft aspect, Prof. Agyapong- Kodua urged the leaders of Jospong Group of Companies and other corporate organizations to take a keen interest in motivation as a 鈥渄emotivated group will lead to poor performance while a motivated group achieve more than the resources provided to them will reasonably achieve.鈥 He also urged that 鈥渘one should be the voice that disintegrates the team, whether in dealing with their junior or senior colleagues. Instead, 鈥渂e the voice that rallies support and motivate all others.鈥 Prof. Agyapong-Kodua concluded.

Possessing the Nations is the Heart Beat of Christ – 51动漫 VC Tells Ministerial Students /possessing-the-nations-is-the-heart-beat-of-christ-pentecost-university-vc-tells-ministerial-students/ /possessing-the-nations-is-the-heart-beat-of-christ-pentecost-university-vc-tells-ministerial-students/#comments Tue, 12 Jul 2022 20:59:06 +0000 /?p=11818 The Vice-Chancellor of 51动漫, Aps. Prof. Kwabena Agyapong-Kodua has asked ministers of God to be purposeful about their call into ministry to possess the nations for Christ. In a four-point teaching on the theme 鈥渢he purpose of the call,鈥 the VC gave clarity on why an understanding of the purpose of the call was necessary; the enablers of the call; and the kind of ministers required to possess the nations.

The teachings were in a sermon delivered by the Vice-Chancellor at the preparatory retreat towards the commissioning of the 2022 batch of ministerial students of the School of Theology, Mission and Leadership of 51动漫.

With multiple biblical references including Obadiah 21, Daniel 7:26, Revelation 11:15 and Ephesians 3:10, the man of God clearly established that God鈥檚 purpose is that, the Kingdoms of the world would become His. He said 鈥淕od鈥檚 agenda is revealed- He called Abraham (Gen. 12); out of him the nation, Israel (Deut. 7:6)- his treasured possession; and most importantly out of Israel, Christ Jesus, the Saviour, but His intent is as revealed in Eph. 3:10, “… through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, according to his eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.鈥

Speaking on the call of ministers, Aps. Prof. Agyapong-Kodua said that through them, God鈥檚 purpose will be accomplished. He said 鈥渆verything God is doing or going to do with us is for one purpose- to facilitate His agenda of reclaiming the Kingdoms of this world unto Himself.鈥 He added that, “another way of putting that is, ‘the purpose of our call as Ministers is to pursue the possessing the nations agenda.’鈥 The revered minister said, “It is a lifelong agenda”, and actually the heartbeat of Christ.鈥

On the kind of ministers that can fulfil the purpose, the 51动漫 VC alerted that, “everything is warming up to the day that all the Kingdoms of the world will surrender to the authority of God” and that ministers have been called as agents to facilitate that. To achieve this objective, ministers are to be filled with the: (1) power of the Holy Spirit; and (2) lifestyle of Christ. He echoed that these two attributes are essential for the success of ministry.

In addition, the VC urged the soon-to-be-ordained ministers to channel the “enablers” of the faith to achieve the purpose of the faith. He enumerated activities such as evangelism, baptism, prayers, worship, among others, as useful enablers but should be intentionally channelled to equip people to accomplish the ultimate purpose- “possessing the nations.” He ended the sermon with a prayer for impartation of the Holy Spirit on the ministerial students.

The School of Theology, Mission and Leadership is a school under the 51动漫. It is responsible for training individuals called into the full time ministry of The Church of Pentecost and those interested in biblical and theological studies. It plays a critical role in the University A+ agenda of 51动漫.

VC and wife Hold Christmas Lunch with International Students /vc-and-wife-hold-christmas-lunch-with-international-students/ /vc-and-wife-hold-christmas-lunch-with-international-students/#comments Wed, 29 Dec 2021 12:39:53 +0000 /?p=11554 The Vice-Chancellor of 51动漫 Prof. Kwabena Agyapong-Kodua and his wife, Mrs Vida Agyapong-Kodua, had a special Christmas lunch with the International Students community of the University. This took place on the University campus on Tuesday 28th December 2021.

Many students from different countries attended the lunch with some of their Ghanaian friends.

According to the International Students Relations Officer of the University, Mr. Kwaku Safori Anim, the objective of the meeting was to provide an intimate family time, often spent over meals, that our International Students may be missing, since they stayed in Ghana and did not return home for the holidays. “Also, it was meant to deepen engagements and enhance the relationship between Management of the University and our international community, by making time to dine and interact with the students…”, Mr. Anim added.

Speaking with the students, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Agyapong-Kodua, said that 51动漫 is passionate about its international community and is committed to ensuring that the academic goals of the students are realised and that they are seen as the best wherever they go.

The VC used his own experiences as an international student in the UK and challenged the students to be good ambassadors of their respective countries. He said, “I always made sure I was on time and performed the best because I knew that if I failed, it would be seen as all Africans were failures, so I kept it in mind that I was carrying an entire continent with me. Thus, as international students at PU, keep it in mind that you are representing your entire country and should not fail them.鈥

The VC further encouraged the students to patronize the services of the International Students Relations Office and see it as their first point of call for all manner of concerns.

The President of the International Students Association of PU Ms. Grace Amarachi Brown (Nigerian), thanked the VC and the University management on behalf of her colleagues. Ms. Brown shared how the VC always makes time for International Students and offers immediate interventions that resolve their issues. Ms. Brown and her Vice, Christopher Tchitombi (Gabonese) presented a gift to the VC.

Other members of management who were present were Dr. Abraham Nyebar, the acting Chief Finance Officer of PU and Dr. Richard Afedze, patron of the International Students Association of PU.
