Profile Summary
Apostle Christian Tsekpoe is an Associate Professor of Pentecostal-Charismatic Christianity at 51动漫 in Accra, Ghana. He earned his PhD in Theology and Mission from the Oxford Centre for Mission Studies in the UK and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Fuller Theological Seminary in the USA. Currently, he is the head of the Centre for Ministerial Formation and Training at the Pentecost School of Theology and Mission, serves on 51动漫鈥檚 Governing Council, and actively participates in various university committees and boards. Prof. Tsekpoe鈥檚 extensive academic leadership includes previously held positions, including Director of Postgraduate Studies and Research and Coordinator of the School of Theological Education by Extension at 51动漫. He has also been a visiting scholar at Birmingham Christian College in the UK and Pentecost Theological Institute in South Africa. As an ordained minister of the Church of Pentecost and the resident minister of A-Lang Worship Centre in Odorkor, Accra, he is deeply involved in practical ministry in his local community while engaged with global responsibilities. At the global level, he serves as a member of the Faith and Order Commission of the World Council of Churches, the Executive Editor of the journal Pentecostal Education, and as a board member of the World Alliance for Pentecostal Theological Education. He also serves as a member of the Research and Development Committee of the Church of Pentecost, a board member of the Visionary Organizational Development and Entrepreneurial Club, Africa (VODEC Africa), and the board chair of the Centre for Strategic Philanthropy, a Social Investment (CESPSI), Ghana.
Prof. Tsekpoe鈥檚 commitment to the next generation is a fundamental aspect of his research pursuits. As a scholar of international repute and a conference speaker, he not only shares his knowledge and insights with the youth but also shows leadership in teaching, mentoring, and nurturing them to fully develop their potential and make the desired impact in society. He has supervised and mentored 51 students鈥 theses, both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His research interests include intergenerational missiology, contextualization, contemporary African theology, and African Christian spirituality. He is passionate about bridging the gap between theory and practice as well as the older and younger generations in Africa and the African diaspora. He has authored numerous articles and books, including the groundbreaking 鈥淚ntergenerational Missiology: An African Pentecostal Perspective.鈥 Prof. Christian Tsekpoe is a respected family man, a scholar, and a minister of the gospel who inspires hope for the next generation of African leaders. He is married to Olivia, and their union is blessed with three children: Blessing, Dorothy, and Christian.
