After twenty years of meritorious service, Aps. Dr. Daniel Walker leaves 51动漫 at the end of November 2020. The soft-spoken leader leaves for Tarkwa as Area Head and Chairman of the Western Regional Coordinating Committee of The Church of Pentecost. He hands over to Rev. Prof. Kwabena Agyapong-Kodua.

Aps. Dr. Walker has been at 51动漫 since the year 2000. Throughout this time, he served in many capacities including Head of the Missions Department and Dean of Students Affairs. He was appointed Rector in the year 2016 and subsequently became Vice Chancellor (VC) when the University attained Presidential Charter in June 2020.

As head, Aps. Dr. Walker led the university to attain the coveted Presidential Charter. He also won many awards for the university and himself during his tenure. These include the 鈥淥verall Best Private University in Ghana鈥� in the year 2019 by the Private University Students鈥� Association (PUSAG). The University鈥檚 Department of Nursing and Midwifery, Communication Studies were also awarded the best in Ghana in the same year.

On his part, Aps. Dr. Walker won the Most Respected CEO in the Private University Category at the 2019 UMB CEOs Awards Ghana. Again, he was awarded recently for training ethical and entrepreneurial professionals at the Ghana Business Awards 2020.

Commenting on his departure, Dr. Walker said: 鈥�20 years in this university has built-in me memories that will last a lifetime鈥�. 鈥淚 spent my most active years serving this university and saw it grow from one stage to the other and must thank God for the opportunity to contribute to building the resilient brand that it has become鈥�

He also thanked staff for their support throughout his time as a lecturer, HoD, Dean then VC. 鈥淚 must thank all staff including those who may have left the university earlier for contributing to my service to 51动漫. He further admonished them to re-dedicate themselves to the University as it gets a new leader, new status and new brand identity.
